Damian Horstman Memorial Fundraiser

Damian HorstmanThank you for your interest in the Damian Horstman Memorial Fundraiser.

Damian was a loyal and caring son, brother, friend, physician, and, above all, a loving father and husband.

Damian was born in Los Angeles, CA in 1972. He attended high school at Polytechnic School in Pasadena, received his B.S. from UCLA, M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Virginia, M.D. from UC Davis, and completed his residency at Stanford. He was chief of anesthesiology and vice chief of staff at Sierra Vista Hospital in San Luis Obispo, CA.

Damian was an avid swimmer, runner and cyclist, but the true love of his life was his wife, Jenny, and his two sons, Mason (age 4) and Beckett (age 2).

This fundraiser is an initial effort to honor Damian's memory by establishing an educational fund for Mason and Beckett. Thus, in lieu of flowers or other acts of kindness, the family respectfully asks that a contribution be made to ensure that Mason and Beckett can have the opportunities that Damian dreamed for them.

One hundred percent of proceeds from the Damian Horstman Memorial Fundraiser will be awarded to Mason and Beckett for educational purposes via the DFS Memorial Fund. All donations are tax deductible in accordance with federal tax laws.

About the DFS Memorial Fund

Damian's family has sought a method for contributing to Mason and Beckett's educational needs. Accordingly, the DFS Memorial Fund will serve to collect and distribute financial contributions. All proceeds from the Damian Horstman Memorial Fundraiser will be awarded to Mason and Beckett via the DFS Memorial Fund.

The administrators of the DFS Memorial Fund are honored to sponsor this fundraiser for the family of Damian. Having lost their own father early in life (both still in diapers at the time), this difficult situation strikes a profound chord in their personal experience and in the essence of the DFS Memorial Fund. While this gift may not ease the pain of such a devasting and unfortunate loss, hopefully it will assist Mason and Beckett as they travel on their path to adulthood.
